WHAT IS IT WORTH?
Luke 14.25-35
“If anyone comes to me, and does not hate his own
father and mother and wife and children and brothers
and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my
disciple.”

INTRODUCTION
Jesus’ ministry was riding a wave of “success.”
The people loved the Jesus experience.
Jesus spells out the cost of becoming a follower.
Whoever does not carry his own cross and
come after me cannot be my disciple. (Luke
14.27 NASB)
Jesus repeatedly spelled out the cost of the Kingdom.
Parables of the Costly Pearl and the Hidden
Treasure (Matthew 13.44-45)
The rich young ruler (Luke 18.18-28)
Seek first the Kingdom of God (Matt. 6.33)
People find God when they seek him with all of their
hearts. (Jeremiah 29.13)
Becoming a genuine follower of Jesus means we count
the cost of following Jesus.
