Introduction
Your have heard it said, “Actions speak louder than WORDS” …Nothing reveals the condition of Heart more than your words.
Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits (Prov. 18.21 ESV)
Our words can be good…

Good words build up and encourage.

Good words edify and strengthen others.
Our Words can be Evil…
- Coarse Talk
- Complaining Talk
- Contentious Talk
- Words spoken in anger
- Words spoken with bitterness
Scriptural guidelines for our Speech
- Colossians 4.6 – Let your speech be gracious.
- James 3.3-5 – Control your speech and words.
- Ephesians 4.29 – Use your words to build up and edify.
- Ephesians 4.15 – Speak the truth.
Jesus tells us that our words flow from the overflow of our heart.
Jesus tells us that we will be Judged by every idle word we utter.
If any think they are religious, and do not bridle their tongues but deceive their hearts, their religion is worthless. (James 1.26)
Conclusion
Do your words reflect the love and grace of Jesus Christ, or do your words bring condemnation and judgment?
