Great Gratitude Great Life

As we celebrate Mother’s Day I think we all can affirm we have
many things to be grateful for.

Gratitude is a way of living our life in response to God’s grace.

David expresses gratitude to God.

  • For God’s Creation. (5-10)
  • For God’s Deliverance. (11-14)
  • For God’s protection. (15-20)
  • For God’s providence (21-22)
  • For God’s redemption (23-26)
  • For God’s everlasting chesed love (26x)

A heart of gratitude focuses and orients our life.

Research repeatedly shows powerful mental, physical, and
spiritual benefits of a lifestyle of gratitude.

Practicing gratitude rewires our brain chemistry.

How do you practice gratitude?

  • Be mindful of the things around you with which God blesses you.
  • Each day, worship.
  • Each day write down three things for which you are grateful.
  • Share your gratitude with others.
  • Become attentive and present to the blessings around you. (What do you see, smell, taste, and hear that gives you joy?)
  • Give to others – out of the overflow of God’s grace.
  • Use joyful language – eliminate negative words and self-talk.
  • When you don’t feel like it, go through the motions.
